Those people we knew that were not already busy gathered for a pre-Christmas party. We started to notice that things were melting in our freezer. That can’t be good. At least we have a huge pile of snow on our deck.

I think we waited for this car for 3 months! (And I had to learn to drive a manual during this time.) It was finally here.

We tried to make it out the next day after the snow plow came by again because I had a baby shower to throw that day, and I needed a few last minute items!!! We should have stayed home, and I I should have planned better. We did have the shower because my friends with SUV’s picked up those who did not. Somehow it all worked out. We ended the day with a trip to China King.

We were hardy snow shovelers before this blizzard, but we will be the proud owners of a snow blower in the future.

Everyone warned us that there was going to be a blizzard, but I did not worry about it too much. I knew I would have to wait for the snowplow to come by in the morning before I could go anywhere. It would be on our street by 8 AM or so, right? Wrong. It was there at 3 PM, and it was still snowing.

There is not a lot that could make me want to run a 10k in the middle of winter, but I didn’t have a time to submit to the Disney Princess Half Marathon, and I was running out of options. So we got up early and drove to Faribault for this race. It was cold, but the start of the race was right outside the meeting place, and we didn’t have to wait very long. It went fairly well, but we learned that you should always know the course before you start running. Pam and I ran about a block too far. Andy and Jim ran much, much farther off course.

The novelty of winter had not worn off.
