Volleyball has started. These pictures are from the second game (from the beginning when it wasn’t misting hard!)

I’m sure Andy blocked this ball Patrick is trying to spike.

It’s just pictures, this time.

Adam and Andy challenged themselves to install some finicky software that really didn’t want to be installed on a netbook. In the end, they were successful. Oh the drama! See the angst in the picture below.

I spent a lot of time correcting gardening mistakes from years gone by. I moved lilies, iris, hen & chicks, and other unknown bulbs into better positions. I then planted the 8 petunias in pots. And I also started an herb garden!

Petunia and some herbs.

Some potted plants.

The garden.

The raspberry bush.

The pictures from our first ever wine club are below. The theme was “bring a wine you like”. We watched John Cleese’s wine show, tried all of these wines, and then played games. It was lots of fun.

April 17, 2009.
It was a slow spring, and the Minnesotans were tired of huddling inside for warmth. The slightly above freezing temperatures lured them outside in their shorts and tshirts. But, they had to build a fire to stay outside in the cold, post-sunset hours.
Here are pictures from our first fire pit experience of the year (hosted by Adam in his very dry backyard). It was right around the time that we started this fire when the newpaper announced a fire ban. We didn’t find out about it until the next day. Oh well! Nothing caught on fire, and it rained the next day!

I want to thank the three Minnesotans who faithfully check in everyday, even though there is nothing new here. And I’m going to start remedying the situation right after I finish making excuses and procrastinating. I’m not sure how this lack of effort has happened. I have approximately 10 posts started and material for even more than that. Is there such a thing as blogger’s block? Eh, who knows!
New subject! For the past few days, I’ve been amusing myself by reading the Cakewrecks Blog. I’ve been making my way backwards in time through this blog, and I might even do it again. It’s funny like the facebook group, “I judge you when you use poor grammar,” but it has even more to offer. There are atrocious grammar mistakes, misunderstandings, and completely tasteless cakes that are all meant to be seen. I have laughed at so many of the posts. And you should, too.
And here is another funny link shared by a friend that you should read: Historical moments ruined by technology.
Ok, now I’m really going to work on those backlogged posts. Here I go!
