Congratulations Mike and Katie!

Thursday, September 6th, 2007

Katie and Mike got married this past weekend, and we were very happy to see it! It was at the park where we go to the riverside concerts! They had shaded stadium seating for the wedding. And the wedding bulletins were actually fans! Wasn’t that clever?

This brings me to my main announcement. Katie and Mike, here are a few of your pictures, and there are still more that are just a link away. Thanks for everything. The party was great and we had a lot of fun.

Apple Picking Goodness

Thursday, September 6th, 2007
We’ve been out to the apple orchard, and I think we are all satisfied. This orchard is spectacular. It is Apple Ridge Orchard, by the way. This weekend was the first weekend they’re picking apples, and the apples in season right now are Wealthy, Macintosh, Honey Crisp, and Sweet Sixteen. For breakfast I had a Wealthy followed by Sweet Sixteen. In the end we had two big bags full of apples.

There were also grapes, sunflowers, and pumpkins. There were llamas that didn’t come near us. And there were goats that were there didn’t come near us as well. The only bad luck was that of Nate’s, but I won’t go into it here. You’ll have to ask him.

We have plans for the apples. Some of them include eating them, some of them include drying them (my favorite), and some of them include making Andy’s stash of apple sauce. I think we might even be planning to go back later in the season. So far we’ve been enjoying a honey crisp apple a day for breakfast, and Andy has also made some really good apple dumplings…the normal kind and the Martha Stewart kind. Both are good!
