Did you go to one of those grade schools that would have a book fair where they free books? I did. And several weeks ago Amber and I went to the source of those book fairs in one of those towns surrounding Minneapolis. The books at the book fairs were free for kids, but for adults these books are all 50% off or more which is a pretty good deal! Scholastic clears out their warehouse every so often…maybe twice a year is what Amber said. There were a lot of really good books there. It was about 2 pm and I had missed lunch so I ended up with 3 cookbooks (oh well…Andy likes variety). But I also got the Amulet of Samarkand, which I had wanted to read. And I got The Princess Diaries, which I have already read and enjoyed. It got 4 stars on my scale, the highest rating a fiction book can get. I’ll let you know about the other if it is worth mentioning. But all these books were less than $20. All of them were 50% off or more. So my point is that we should put this remarkable event on our calendars. It was incredible.
[...] I bought this book because it had a fabulous cover, and it was half off the normal price at the Scholastic warehouse. [...]
